About The Owners
Co-Owner Jeramy Brown has a true passion for the restaurant business. This passion began as a teen when his first job was working with his grandmother at Chalet Basque. He still names JB and Marie as mentors. Over the years, Jeramy has gained an incredible knowledge of service, wine and cuisine. He also has extensive restaurant management experience. When Valentien Restaurant was first opened Jeramy worked as an employee under Robert and Don Dixon. In recent years past, Jeramy was a manager and wine buyer at McGee’s Restaurant.
Jeramy spent time living in Europe culling much knowledge about food, beverage, and service. He credits his years in Europe and particularly Italy with giving him the wine bug. Currently Jeramy is pursuing his Master Sommelier title through the Court of Sommeliers. Jeramy is often consulted for his expertise by local journalists. He has been featured in many media outlets including the Bakersfield Californian and Bakersfield Magazine.
About The Owners
Co-Owner Jennifer Sanderson found her way into restaurants the way many do; as a starving college student. Finding the food and service industry to be more than ‘just a job’. She quickly worked her way up the ranks. Jennifer has a myriad of restaurant experience; everything from working under a renowned French Pastry Chef, to learning how to cook American style diner food. Front of the House, Back of the House, she’s been there. With a background in management training for a national restaurant chain, Jennifer has strong ideas on building successful eateries.
A brief hiatus from the hospitality industry led to years working in marketing, and creative industries. Years well spent, but the call of the restaurant business was too strong for her to ignore. Prior to taking over Valentien, Jennifer worked in Los Angeles as a set designer, and freelance event planner. Now Jennifer spends her days dreaming up menus, and is constantly revising her vision for the ideal restaurant.
